Ayurveda Immersion: Improve Mental Focus and Clarity: February 7-9

Vital energy is essential for our well-being, growth, and brain performance and health. Please join us to learn ways to support deep, rejuvenating rest, supporting greater relaxation and focus. Drawing from Ayurveda and Yoga traditions, you will discover the best  practices for the season to:

  • Deeply relax, improve energy & calm the mind
  • Nervous system (Majja Dhatu) functions and relation to gut health
  • Enhance your immunity and clear your environment
  • Experience balanced Vata Dosha
  • Release tension for head, neck and shoulders

We will also discuss the best approaches for healthy eating, yoga asana, exercise and breathing. Promote relaxation, good sleep hygiene and bring balance to your mental and physical outlook.

Learn to identify thoughts and habits that contribute to the cycles of stress, inflammation and toxicity. Begin to shift away from provocation to palliation of Dosha (constitution). Start journaling, meditating and building your healthy foods list. Learn about meditation, spices and breathing practices for winter, and continue your momentum in the directions of health, happiness and bliss!

The Banyan Cancer Prevention & Maintenance Program is a series of self-care workshops for cancer survivors currently meeting monthly. The year-long program with 22 sessions offers immediate weekly and ongoing monthly support for cancer survivors interested in preventing recurrence of cancer or maintenance.  The focus of this program is on healthy changes in lifestyle, food, nutrition, meditation and gentle yoga for blissful living. The wisdom and secrets of Ayurveda will be shared with participants.
The Banyan Cancer Prevention & Maintenance Program will provide information on Ayurvedic seasonal meals, lectures, peer group discussions, and Ayurvedic consultations for cancer survivors. Survivors will learn about their Dosha and foods to prefer and avoid for best health. Ann Wagoner has researched Ayurvedic herbs, spices and protocols for prevention of cancer recurrence with Mount Madonna Institute.

Gentle Yoga on Wednesdays at 12:00 noon, online via Zoom. With a focus on deep breathing and seasonal balance, this class combines yoga postures and Ayurvedic principles. All Levels. Come experience back breathing and how therapeutic yoga can help you find balance and health. Appropriate to reduce and reverse hypertension, asthma, diabetes and anxiety. Develop a healthy relationship with your body.  CEU credits available for Yoga teachers and Ayurvedic practitioners through the Center for Ayurveda and Yoga Study. Register on PCC website.

Tuesday & Thursday,  6-8:30pm: The Center for Ayurveda and Yoga Study 200-hour Teacher Training course at Portland Community College. Register now! Find health, wellness, and bliss from the inside out. Learn yoga and breathing recommendation for perfect health. The class covers both theory and practical applications from Mudra, Marma and Bhandha to Asana, Yantra, and Mantra. Discover Ayurvedic foods, spices, recipes and cooking tips for each constitution (Dosha) for perfect balance.


300-hour Yoga Teacher Training Wednesday evening class 6-8:30pm through CAYS. Two weekend immersions per quarter. New term next season! Take your yoga practice to the next level with the study of this ancient system from India of understanding the mind, body and consciousness. Building upon a 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher completion, this program (4 courses) fulfills the Yoga Alliance requirements for a 500-hour Registered Yoga Teacher.
